Dress for success

I may not have a real job yet, however I believe on the power of some nice and polished outfit.

Having attended many parties and UN Models… I know the power of clothes.

We all judge people by either their shoes, hands, hair, wrinkles in the clothes or the length of the skirt. This only means that we are being judged too…

Here are some basic rules for your next college interview, UN model or just for the next meeting with a nice boy; have fun!

REMEMBER: Manners mean a lot as well

A button-down shirt.
-Brooks Brothers and some other brands have non-iron shirts 😉

—Polished black shoes.                                                                                                        TAKE NOTE: POLISHED                                                                                                      If you don´t want your shoes to lose shape, add some paper inside them.

—A blue, black or gray jacket.                                                                                                                                                                                                                               Make sure it fits you perfectly…be careful, as arm length is extremely important.

—Slacks that complement the jacket.                                                                                                                                    Be bold and combine some colors…age really does not matter

You can’t go wrong with a conservative tie. (Alas, this rules out pink flamingoes, hula dancers and anything to do with sports.)

—Don’t forget the socks. Here’s a hot tip for fashion-impaired Y-chromosome types everywhere: buy two dozen pairs of identical black or blue socks so you can pluck two at random from your drawer each morning and always have a match.

There is some slack in the grand scheme of things. Blue and white shirts have been around since time began, or so it seems, but there’s also room for the occasional yellow, pink or (if you’re an aspiring poet) black shirt. However, if you don’t know what you’re doing, stick with blue and white shirts, because otherwise you’re almost certain to step in it.

As said in Forbes magazine…

A skirt that hits just above the knee, slacks and perhaps pantsuits.  If they fit right, they are sexy. 😉

—Just a hint of makeup: mascara, eyeliner, blush, lipstick and foundation.

Skip the perfume, especially during a job interview or the first few days at a new job. If you use perfume thereafter, go easy on the saucy splash behind the ears, because you can bet that some grump or hyper-sensitive soul will complain bitterly about headache, nausea or a general outbreak of the fantods.

Rule of thumb: Always dress for the task at hand. If you’re a civil engineer headed for a construction site, jeans, a flannel shirt and work boots are fine, but that’s not how to dress when making a formal presentation to the grand pooh-bahs at the office. Believe it or not, otherwise intelligent people are remarkably dumb about this basic point.

Mark Twain was right: “Clothes make the man. Naked people have little or no influence in society.”

Fashion Week …Tregua

I was running as fas as I could because Mexico City was a chaos and I was already late. It had been raining the whole afternoon and the traffic was worst than usual.

But I made it!! I could enjoy the TREGUA Runway and I was pleasantly surprised. Tregua is a brand where Natalia Casal, Lucía Cornejo y Marina Rulli combine their ideas in order to create fantastic clothes.

They studied in Buenos Aires, Argentina. However they are trying to create a name in Mexico and what better way to do it than in Mexico´s Fashion Week.

ttt8t7thot1 t2 t3 t4 t5 t6As we can see black , white and pink are strong colors this season.

Oh and by the way, Marina Rulli is cousin of the famous actor Sebastian Rulli, who acts in several mexican series.rulli

Fashion Week-Ricardo Seco

My beloved readers!

I have been absent and I am truly sorry…but something big is coming… my fashion week post!

As you know Fashion Week is the most important week in the fashion world, it is a time to reinvent yourself!

I got media passes for the whole week…and i could not be more excited!!! 😀

So stay tuned…because I will be posting about my favorite shows and I got ALL ACCESS.

One of my favorite of all times was Ricardo Seco´s collection.

mbfashionweek.com describes him: Ricardo Seco was born in Torreon, Coahuila, Mexico and is considered to be one of Mexico’s most influential designers. A self-taught designer, Ricardo was a businessman for more than twelve years until he decided to pursue his passion and risked everything for what he truly loved: fashion.                                                                              Ricardo’s creations are designed with both men and women in mind and are easily recognized for their uniqueness, cleanliness of fabric detail, patterns and sophisticated fit. Ricardo Seco’s fashion seeks to captivate and seduce the public while highlighting his native country internationally.

Because of his prestige  I was quite honored when I was invited to his PRIVATE EVENT

boletosIt was all very classy and formal…sponsors gave insertional speeches…presentacion…and the show began!

AS we can admire the collection is flawless and exquisite. The designs are innovative and there are more colors than black and white!

Pink, orange and blue are going to be a must-have for the next season…so start buying and remember… we all can dress as princesses ale long as we do not lose style 🙂

Hope you enjoyed!!

Royal Baby Fashion

I know that I said that my next post´d be about Cara Delevingne but hey a new heir to the throne of England was born!!

HERE the details if you want to know more.

NOW the outfits of the 23rd July!

The Grandparents

“He´s absolutely beautiful, they´re both doing really well and we´re so thrilled” Carole said to the media outside the hospital.

Kate´s parents were the first to visit the couple at 11:45 am BST on Tuesday.

Carole was wearing an Orla Kierly dress from the summer/spring 2012 collection and mid heels from Russell&Bromley.

Michael was wearing white pants with a stripped shirt and navy blue blazer. His loafers are also from Russell&Bromley.

The Duke and Duchess of Cornwall arrived next.

Charles was all suited up and Camila was wearing a white  frill dress with a pearl necklace

Kate and William

Can´t tell you how much I love this picture…

Here a better look at the clothes

Kate looked stunning, as any new parent. But with an extra glam, she was wearing a bespoke dress by Jenny Packham. Jenny is one of her favorite designers.

The polka dot dress is crafted of silk crepe-de-chine.

A closer look to the cornflower blue and white polka dot dress

Kate used nude sling-back wedges which in my opinion were perfect for the occasion.

HERE if you want to know Kate´s maternity style

William looked casual with dark blue trousers up with a camel belt and an inoffensive light blue shirt. Suggesting a different style of parenthood maybe?

A lot has ben said about how similar Kate´s and Diana´s dresses are…

Since Kate´s dress was bespoke we can´t said it was a coincidence.

I believe that Kate was showing respect to her mother in law and maybe showing sensibility  in which should have been a quite happy day for Diana.

I love them both.

OK Magazine has already published what Kate should do in order to recover her figure but many women have said that they are happy that Kate actually showed her bump.

@amflynn tweeted “Delighted to see Kate Middleton proudly show her beautiful, normal, real post-bay bump to the world…”

And the founder of Netmoms said “Middleton “has done more for new mom´s self esteem than any other role model”.

So there you go!

Kate Middleton Style

With the big news about Kate´s upcoming baby some pregnant women would love to know how to dress like a real princess.

In our today´s world everything is changing so fast, that we do not have time to assimilate it, and fashion is no exception.

Pregnant women no longer have one or two boring outfits. They`re supposed to show their belly and have fun, but also to take care of their upcoming baby.

So let´s see how our beloved Duchess of Cambridge is dealing with fashion.

Here we can see her in a polka dots dress with a black cardigan.
The dress has a Empire waist cut and it´s perfect to show the stomach and take care of your offspring
Here the Duchess has an apricot dress with matching coat.
The Shift dress gives a clean and fresh impression.
Pastel colors gives the future mom a sweet charm.
Kate looks stunning in this Sheath dress with print.
She shows her belly and smiles. Accessories are not necessary with such a print.
She´s wearing heels but small ones. It was also a small walk.
And remember to smile!
Middleton looks classy in this coat also in pastel shades.
A hat make her looks pretty, elegant and british of course.
A neutral clutch and small earrings are enough to complete the soft look.
Coats are great to be warm and sophisticated!
The future mom looks really chic in this full skirt dress.
Using light colors  and a light make-up makes her look joyful!
She also uses small heels here. They are not forbidden!
This is it, hope you like it!
I will be posting  about  some celebrities style, fashion history and the outfits in movies and tv-series.
