Adolfo Domínguez

This well-known spanish designer presented his most recent collection on the runway of Mexico´s Fashion Week.

American Express invited me to the private event where this marvelous designer decided to surprise us all.

His clothing is inspired by urban necessities, making use of loose and natural fabrics. The way the clothes are cut are just perfect and the design can be appreciated from a fair distance.

David Salomón.

Once again I had the pleasure to attend Mexico’s Fashion Week. The week when we can finally forget our problems and enjoy the magic of some amazing designs, as if we were in a fairy tale.

In this story David Salomón would be anyones favorite Godmother, or Godfather…

You have probably heard his name, as I´ve written about him before (if not, what are you waiting? Check it!… there´s even a video 😉 )

His designs are both fresh and elegant with a glimpse of sexiness; but just the right amount.

No surprise he has dressed a few celebrities…

This collection was inspired in the designers hometown, Cancun, the strand and the movement of the ocean. Quite a master piece I´d say.

I want to thanks his PR people for the invite, it was truly an amazing night…

#BringBackOurGirls

 

Life as we know it can change in a second….

Near 200 girls were kidnapped last month, a real coverage was not made. However #BringBackOurGirls has gone viral and now celebrities, politicians, and real people are posting about this.

These girls are from Nigeria and a lot has been said about the fact, that if they were from Europe, from example, the news´d have coverage this instantly.

I think that despite our physical differences we are all human and we all have the right to be free and respected. The though of girls being kidnapped and probably being sold right now is unbearable…something must be done.

Many people say, that a simple photo posted by Michelle Obama or David Cameron is useless if action is not taken. Is an updated status worthy?

I think so…the influence of this personalities is HUGE! Information about them is spread worldwide, it makes people more conscious. This is mayor, because we all can do something to support the cause.

Of course I think that action must be taken by powerful countries…but these decisions are slow…uploading a picture that will create consciousness around the world takes less than a minute.

So please take a minute as well to appreciate your life and support any cause in order to make this a better world.

David Salomón…Fashion Week

I got the pleasure of getting invited to a private event powered by American Express. This time David Salomón was presenting his collection.

David Salomón is a mexican designer who lives in Cancún, Quintana Roo. There he has find an inspirations for his “Hippie Chic” looks. He is actually the creator of this style in Mexico and is one of the most influent designers in Mexico. This has been said by the “Fashion Book Mexico” one of the most important publications in the country.

David Salomon´s goal is to create spectacular designs through simple lines and structures. Because of this stars such as Eva Longoria, Kate Walsh, Teri Hatcher, Bárbara Mori, Lupita Jones, Angélica Vale among many others are his usual clients. His designs are often on the  “best dressed” lists in Mexico ant the US.

Liebster Award

Liebster Award!

“Liebster Award”  is an award given to bloggers BY bloggers. It is a way to let them know how appreciated they are and how people actually takes time to read what they write. I think it is a fabulous idea and also motivates bloggers, who like me, are just starting in the business 🙂

I study at the German School and therefore I knew that the award had something to do with Germany, because “Liebster” is a German word  which means dearest or sweetheart ❤ I searched a little and it seems that this award was born 3 years ago in Germany in order to get to know more blogs and give them a little push. This is why their slogan is “discover more blogs”.

A day like any other I was updating my twitter status (@fashionberblick) and saw a  new direct message I thought it was spam…but when I opened it was a message from Guapuuras Blog where they were telling me that I was nominated to this award. I thought it was a joke at first but it turns out it wasn´t! I would like to thank them so much for this!… It really made my day. It is amazing to know that people who you actually don´t know read your posts and like them!!

1.How and why did you started your blog?                                                                                I started the Blog on a summer afternoon in order to distract myself. I got inspired by a really good friend and just wrote about a person whose style I admire Kate Middleton 

2. What is your style?                                                                                                                I keep it casual for school but like to go preppy every now and then. It is the style that best suits me. In any case I think that jeans are nothing but the best.

3. In the Fashion Industry: Who do you admire and why?                                                       It may sound like a cliche but it is 100% true, I really admire COCO CHANEL. The way she practically reinvented fashion for women and never stopped fighting in order to make her dreams come true is an inspiration for my every day life. I used to stare at her pictures and master pieces in some of my mom´s books since I was a little girl.

4. What do you always wear?                                                                                                      A bracelet given to me by one of my best friends. She bought it in Thailand, a place I´ve always wanted to visit… and it also brings back some beautiful memories.

5. If you were a city…which city would you be?                                                                         I would say Rome…lots of secrets are kept there.

6. Which fashion item would you be?                                                                                          A necklace…I love them.

7.Favorite store and why                                                                                                              I don´t have one but I always find little vintage stores interesting.

8. Favorite Jeans                                                                                                               Skinny Jeans.

9.Favorite model                                                                                                              Carmen Dell’Orefice.
